Pursuant to the Code of Virginia, § 17.1-281,
as amended, there is hereby assessed a fee of $2, which shall be taxed
as cost in each civil, criminal and traffic case filed in the Circuit
Court for Buchanan County, filed in the General District Court for
Buchanan County and filed in the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District
Court for Buchanan County for construction, renovation or maintenance
of the courthouse, jail and court-related facilities and to defray
increases in the costs of heating, cooling, electricity and ordinary
maintenance of the above-mentioned facilities and courthouse located
in Buchanan County. Said assessment shall be collected by the Clerk
of the court in which the action is filed and remitted to the Treasurer
of Buchanan County and held by such Treasurer, subject to disbursement
by the governing body for the construction, renovation or maintenance
of courthouse, jail and court-related facilities and to defray increases
in the cost of heating, cooling, electricity and ordinary maintenance.
The assessment provided for herein shall be
in addition to any other fees prescribed by law.
