Pursuant to the provisions of § 3 of the Workmen's Compensation Law of the State of New York, as last amended, the City of Mount Vernon does hereby elect and does extend to all classes of civil defense volunteers of the City of Mount Vernon the protection of regular workmen's compensation during authorized training and practice periods and when rendering assistance in combating natural or peacetime disasters upon the direction of the chief executive officer of the City of Mount Vernon, authorized by law to call upon the Civil Defense Director for assistance in protecting human life or property.
Notice of this election is to be forwarded to the Workmen's
Compensation Board of the State of New York.
