The Bureau of Weights and Measures is hereby authorized and
directed to charge the following fees for the inspection of weighing
and measuring devices:
A. For each scale (33 pounds' maximum capacity) up to and including
five scales per establishment: $20.
B. For each scale (33 pounds' maximum capacity) over five scales per
establishment: $10.
C. Scale (661 pounds' maximum capacity): $40.
D. Linear measure (up to 39 inches): $4.
E. Fabric measuring device (measuregraph): $20.
F. Liquid measure (five gallons or less): $8.
Fees shall be charged once annually, unless a device is ordered
to be repaired and must be retested. An additional fee shall be charged
for that retest.
Fees must be paid by the user within 30 days.
The Director of Weights and Measures shall:
A. Prepare and submit to the Comptroller, at least once a month, a certified
report listing the source, purpose and amount of the fees imposed
pursuant to this article for that month.
B. Prepare and submit, not later than February 1 of each year, a verified
annual report of work completed in the preceding year to the Commissioner
of Agriculture and Markets.
Pursuant to rules promulgated by the Commissioner of Agriculture
and Markets, the Comptroller shall submit, on a prescribed form, not
later than February of each year, an annual report of the fees collected
the preceding year pursuant to this article to the Commissioner of
Agriculture and Markets.
