Any person desiring to construct a driveway entrance onto a lot or parcel of land from an existing Village road or a road which is to be dedicated to the Village shall obtain a permit for the entrance prior to commencement of such construction. The construction performed shall be in accordance with an entrance permit which has been issued, to the satisfaction of the Superintendent of Highways.

A. 
Curb cuts for driveway entrances shall be made in accordance with Figure No. 13[1] in cases where concrete or asphalt concrete curbs must be traversed.

B. 
In subdivisions where roads are approved under these Village Road Specifications, driveway entrances shall be formed at the time of curb construction.[2]

Where driveway entrances involve ditch crossings (see typical details for Type I local roads and major through roads), the configuration of the driveway entrances shall be similar to that shown in Figure No. 13,[1] and the ditch shall be replaced with piping of adequate size and strength to accept the flows and vehicle loadings anticipated. The piping shall extend a minimum of 15 feet to either side of the center line of the proposed entrance.

All driveways with a grade of 3% or greater will be paved with blacktop as required by the Village Superintendent of Highways or the Village Engineer, but in no instance shall the grade of any proposed driveway exceed 15%.
