The majority of villages and towns in the State
of New York have opted to have the enforcement of zoning and building
laws enforced by code enforcement officers. These officers have specific
duties under New York State laws and regulations. The Village of Round
Lake has its Village zoning and building laws enforced by a Building
Inspector and Zoning Enforcement Officer. It would be in the Village's
best interest to have the Building Inspector and Zoning Enforcement
Officer become code enforcement officers with all the rights and duties
granted to them under New York State law.
The Zoning Enforcement Officer and Building
Inspector are hereby changed to "Code Enforcement Officer."
The Code Enforcement Officer shall have the powers and duties of the officers formerly called "Zoning Enforcement Officer" and "Building Inspector." The Code Enforcement Officers shall also have all powers and duties of code enforcement officers as described in all New York State statutes relating thereto and in Chapter
91, Administration and Enforcement of Building and Fire Prevention Code, and Chapter
180, Zoning.
There shall be one or more Code Enforcement
Officers for the Village of Round Lake, as shall from time to time
be determined by the Village Board of Trustees.
The salary of the Code Enforcement Officers
shall be the same as is currently paid to the Zoning Enforcement Officer
and Building Inspector. The salary is subject to review annually at
the appointment of the Code Enforcement Officers.
