Township of Bern, PA Article I Chief of Police

§ 31-1 Position established; probationary period. [1]

The position of Chief of Police is hereby established within the Police Department; provided, however, that he shall serve a probationary period of six months during which time he shall serve at the will of the Supervisors and shall acquire no rights as a regular policeman until after the six-month probationary period has been served.[2]

§ 31-2 Other than administrative capacity. [1]

The Police Chief may from time to time be required to serve in a capacity other than administrative.
