Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:12A-17, a body corporate and public, to be known as the "Housing Authority of the City of Cape May," having heretofore been created, is continued.
The Housing Authority shall constitute an agency and instrumentality of the City. It shall consist of seven members. The City Council shall appoint five Commissioners of the Housing Authority. One member shall be appointed by the City Manager, and one by the Commissioner of Community Affairs. Commissioners so appointed shall hold office for a term of five years, except that all vacancies shall be filled for the unexpired term.
The Housing Authority shall have all the powers necessary or convenient to carry out and effectuate the purposes and provisions of the Redevelopment and Housing Law, N.J.S.A. 40A:12A-17 et seq.
