A Municipal Court is hereby established under
Chapter 12 of Title 2B of the Revised Statutes of New Jersey, as amended
and supplemented. The name of said Court shall be the "Municipal Court
of the Borough of Mendham."

Said Municipal Court shall have and exercise
the limited civil and criminal jurisdiction prescribed by said Chapter
12 of Title 2B of the Revised Statutes of New Jersey, as amended and
supplemented from time to time.

Said Court shall have a Judge, who shall be
known as the "Municipal Judge." He or she shall be appointed by the
Mayor, with the advice and consent of the Council, on January 1 for
a term of three years and shall possess the qualifications as set
forth in said Chapter 12 of Title 2B of the Revised Statutes.

The Mayor, with the advice and consent of Council,
may appoint a Municipal Court Administrator, who shall also serve
as Violations Clerk, whose compensation shall be as provided in the
Salary Resolution and who, with the Municipal Judge, shall function according
to and be governed by Chapter 293 of the Laws of 1993, as amended
or supplemented. This Municipal Court Administrator may also hold another
municipal office and/or perform other duties as prescribed by the
Council or Borough Administrator.

The compensation of the Municipal Judge shall
be established by ordinance and shall be in lieu of any and all fees.
The compensation of the Municipal Court Administrator, clerical and
other assistants may be established by ordinance or resolution.
