Any user of the Middle Township Municipal Sewage System may apply for and obtain Inactive Status.
In order to obtain Inactive Sewer Status, the property owner must provide written documentation proving that the premises has been unoccupied for a period of not less than one year. Written documentation may include but shall not be limited to electric bills, telephone bills, water bills, and the like.
Upon receiving proof that a property has been vacant for a period of at least one year, the Middle Township Sewer Department may issue a Certificate of Eligibility. Prior to the issuance of a Certificate of Eligibility, all real estate taxes and sewer delinquencies must be brought current. Applicant must produce a tax search to that effect from the Municipal Tax Search Officer.
A. 
Upon issuance of the Certificate of Eligibility, the property owner shall pay the cost of plugging the sewer lateral servicing the property. The costs thereof shall be as follows:
4'' connection - $ 50
6'' connection - $ 75
B. 
The property owner shall be responsible to pay an annual fee of $308 to remain an "inactive user." This amount represents 55% of the cost of the active residential user to cover the debt service and operating costs of the sewer utility.

No property shall be reconnected to the sewer system unless a reconnection fee is paid. The reconnection fee shall be $500.
