Crossing guards shall be responsible for assisting children to and from
school when crossing public roadways and intersections.

Crossing guards must:

Crossing guards must not:
(1)
Currently be, or have been on a court-ordered community
supervision or probation for any criminal offense of the grade of Class B
misdemeanor or above, within the last 10 years.
(2)
Have been convicted of an offense of the grade of a Class
B misdemeanor or above within the last 10 years.
(3)
Have been convicted of a felony offense or any family
violence offense, at any time.
A.
Each applicant for employment as a crossing guard shall
have a fingerprint impression of the fingers of both of his or her hands taken
by the Kingston City Police Department.
B.
The Kingston City Police Department is authorized to
forward the applicant's fingerprints to the New York State Division of
Criminal Justice Services for a criminal convictions investigation prior to
the hiring of the applicant.
