In no case shall a single house connection serve
more than one dwelling or establishment, except that such buildings
or facilities in one ownership as are necessary for occupancy or operation
of the main dwelling or establishment may be served by a common drain.
Rainwater leaders shall not be used as soil,
waste or vent pipes; nor shall any soil, waste or vent pipe be used
as rainwater leaders.
All roofs and paved areas, yards and courtyards
shall be drained into stormwater sewerage systems, or combined sewerage
systems, but not into sewers intended for sanitary sewage only. Where
there is no sewer accessible, such connections shall be discharged
into cesspools or leaching basins or some other similar drain meeting
the approval of the Plumbing Inspector.
Connections between gutters, troughs, roof areas
and rainwater leaders inside the building shall be made of durable
material.
All drains, soil, waste or vent and supply pipe
shall be as direct as possible, properly protected from frost, and
arranged so as to be readily accessible for inspection and repairs.
