The drilling and tapping of soil, vent and waste
pipes and house drains to receive waste and vent pipes of any description
is strictly prohibited, and in no case will the use of saddles or
bands be permitted without permission from the Plumbing Inspector.
Whenever horizontal wrought- or galvanized-iron
pipe connects with cast-iron, soil, waste or vent lines, tapped fittings
or tap extension pieces shall be used wherever practicable. No double
hub or inverted caulk joint shall be permitted in soil and waste lines.
