There shall be no trap at the foot of soil or waste pipe stacks, except where such a drain or sewer is used exclusively for conducting rain water or surface water to a house drain or sewer.
The house drain must be provided with a horizontal trap set level and placed inside of foundation wall where sewer enters building. This trap must be provided with a handhole to which cleanout is connected.
Every house shall have an inlet for fresh air on the house side of the trap, not less than four inches in diameter and leading to the outer air.
In main house traps cast-iron pipe shall be extended from handhole of traps to a point two inches above the surface of finished floor or grade. All cleanouts in house drains shall be at least four inches in diameter.
All lead to iron toilet connections above or under ground must be wiped joints (brass solder ferl wiped to lead; factory ready wiped acceptable).
Connections between lead and cast- or wrought-iron pipes shall be made with a caulked joint, a soldering nipple or threaded joint. All unions used on the sewer side of traps shall be ground-faced. No slip-joint connections will be allowed on the sewer side of the trap.
