The office of Deputy Township Clerk is hereby established for the Township
of Hampton, Sussex County, New Jersey, pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A.
40A:9-135.
The term of said office shall be for one year.

The compensation for said office shall be as is prescribed by the annual
Salary Ordinance.[1]
The office shall be filled by the appointment of some suitable person
who shall be a resident of Hampton Township, Sussex County, New Jersey.
The Deputy Clerk shall have all the powers and perform all the duties
of the Township Clerk during such times and for such specific periods as the
Township Clerk shall be absent or when delegated by the Township Clerk to
exercise such powers and perform such duties. The Township Clerk shall be
empowered to delegate all or a portion of his powers to the said Deputy Township
Clerk and shall also be empowered to direct the said Deputy Township Clerk
to assist him in the performance of all or a portion of his duties.
