This chapter is enacted for the purpose of empowering certain town officials
and employees to issue appearance tickets pursuant to § 150.20,
Subdivision 3, of the New York Criminal Procedure Law.
The following named officials and employees of the Town of DeWitt are
hereby authorized, pursuant to § 150.20, Subdivision 3, of the New
York Criminal Procedure Law, to issue and serve appearance tickets upon persons
they have reasonable cause to believe have committed a misdemeanor or who
have committed a petty offense in their presence: building inspectors, deputy
building inspectors, zoning inspectors, deputy zoning inspectors, Enforcement
Officer, Deputy Enforcement Officers, fire inspectors and Dog Control Officers.
