be construed to relieve a claimant of the obligation to make and serve
a notice of claim as provided in § 50-e of the General Municipal
Law. Further, nothing contained in this chapter shall be held to repeal or
modify or waive any existing requirement or statute of limitations which is
applicable to these causes of action but, on the contrary, shall be held to
be additional requirements to the rights to maintain such action.
This chapter shall not apply to actions upon claims for damages or compensation
for property taken by condemnation for any public purpose.
The Clerk of the Village of Penn Yan shall transmit a copy of every
notice received by said Clerk pursuant to this chapter to the Mayor and Trustees
of the Village of Penn Yan and to the Superintendent of Public Works of the
Village of Penn Yan.
