The annual compensation of the Mayor of the
Village of Potsdam, New York, shall be $9,500 per annum, and the annual
compensation of each Trustee of the Village of Potsdam, New York,
shall be $5,500 per annum.
This article, being subject to permissive referendum,
shall take effect 45 days after adoption thereof, unless a petition
protesting the same is duly filed with the office of the Village Clerk;
thereupon a referendum shall be held pursuant to the provisions of
the Municipal Home Rule Law, and such law shall only take effect upon
its approval by a majority of the affirmative vote cast at a referendum
held for such purpose.[1]
