The provisions of this article shall apply except when it is necesary to stop a vehicle to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the directions of a police officer or official traffic control device.

Any vehicle parked within the pavement or curb of any street, highway, municipal parking lot or any other public area must be parked within the space or spaces indicated.
A. 
No person shall park a vehicle at any time upon any of the streets or parts thereof described in Schedule XI (§ 178-43), attached to and made a part of this chapter.
B. 
The parking or standing of motor vehicles or motorcycles is hereby prohibited on both sides of any roadway at the Village Yacht Basin, exclusive of designated parking areas.
No person shall park a vehicle between the hours specified in schedule XII (§ 178-44) of any day, unless otherwise indicated, upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said Schedule XII, attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall park a vehicle for longer than the time limit shown in Schedule XIII (§ 178-45) at any time between the hours listed in said Schedule XIII of any day, unless otherwise indicated, upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said Schedule XIII, attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall stand a vehicle upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in Schedule XIV (§ 178-46), attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall stop a vehicle upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in Schedule XV (§ 178-47), attached to and made a part of this chapter.
A. 
The parking and standing of vehicles in the locations described in Schedule XVI (§ 178-48), attached to and made a part of this chapter, is hereby prohibited at all times, unless a handicapped parking permit is displayed on said vehicles.

B. 
This permit should be displayed on the vehicle dashboard or sun visor on the driver's side when the vehicle is parked in a designated handicapped parking area.
C. 
This permit is for the exclusive use of the person named thereon. It is not transferable.
D. 
Special parking pursuant to this permit shall not exceed the period of two hours.

E. 
The loss or theft of this permit should be reported to the local police precinct in which the loss or theft occurred. This loss or theft should also be reported to the office that issued the permit.
F. 
Anyone who unlawfully makes, alters, uses or possesses a handicapped parking permit is subject to prosecution under the Penal Law of the State of New York § 170.10.
No-passing zones are hereby established and maintained along those streets or parts of streets described in Schedule XVII (§ 178-49), attached to and made a part of this chapter.

No person shall park a trailer in or on any part of the area of the Westhampton Beach Marina between the hours specified in Schedule XII (§ 178-52) any day.

No person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, except when such vehicle is attended by a licensed operator or chauffeur who is seated in the front seat and who can immediately move such vehicle in case of emergency.

No vehicle shall be parked in any area designated as a fire zone.

Wherever the pavement or curb of any street or highway is marked or painted or signs are placed to indicate spaces permitting angled parking, every vehicle stopped, standing or parked wholly upon a roadway shall be so parked within the space or spaces indicated such that the vehicle shall be facing in the direction of authorized traffic movement on that portion of the roadway in which the vehicle rests.

No person shall park a vehicle on a crosswalk.

No person shall stop, stand or park any vehicle in the electric vehicle charging stations located in the municipal lot on Mill Road other than electric vehicles or plug-in hybrid vehicles that are in the process of actively receiving a charge from the charging station and for no longer than a period of two hours.

No person shall park or stand a vehicle unless such vehicle is an approved and permitted vendor of the farmers' market along the east side of the Village Green parcel, further identified as SCTM No. 905-12-4-51 and described as a 220-foot length along the west side of Beach Road, between the hours specified in Schedule XXI (§ 178-53).
