The following terms shall have the following meanings when used in this chapter:
FIREARM or FIREARMS
Any gun, device or instrument as defined in N.J.S.A. 2C:39-1.
PERSON
Any individual, corporation, partnership, firm or association of any kind or nature whatsoever and any public entity of any kind or nature and the plural as well as the singular and any gender.

No person within the Township of Maple Shade shall discharge or fire any firearm or firearms.

No person within the Township of Maple Shade shall shoot an arrow by using a bow.

The following persons shall be exempt from the provisions of §§ 91-2 and 91-3:
A. 
Any police officer, game officer, peace officer, Sheriff or Under-Sheriff or any other person who is authorized by law to carry a firearm in connection with his or her employment.

B. 
Any person who complies with the hunting and fishing licensing regulations as set forth in N.J.S.A. 23:3-1 et seq.
C. 
Any person engaged in target practice at a rifle or target range, approved by the Chief of Police, including the carrying of such arms unloaded to and from said rifle or target range, provided that said person has been issued a permit or firearms purchaser identification card, whichever the case may be.

D. 
Any person engaged in trap- or skeet shooting at a place approved by the Chief of Police, including the carrying of such arms unloaded to and from the scene of said trap- or skeet shooting, provided that said person has been issued a permit or firearms purchaser identification card, whichever the case may be.

Any person who shall violate any provisions of this chapter, upon conviction, shall be subject to the penalty as provided in Chapter 1, Article II, herein.
