The position of Deputy Court Clerk or Deputy
Clerk to Town Justices is hereby established. Said Clerk shall serve
under the supervision and direction of the Town Justices and shall
exercise the duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Town Justices.
It is intended that this position shall be an Exempt position under
the Civil Service Law and regulations. The person appointed to this
position shall be appointed by the Town Board, after recommendation
by the Town Justices, and shall serve at the pleasure of the Town
Board. The position shall be either a full-time or part-time position,
as determined by resolution of the Town Board. Compensation shall
be established by the Town Board.
This article is adopted pursuant to the state
Municipal Home Rule Law. This article is intended to and shall supersede
state Town Law § 20 and any other special law.
