The terms "motor vehicle," "parking space," "public highway," "safety zone," "street," and "U-turn," when used in this Part 1, unless otherwise expressly stated or unless the context or subject matter otherwise requires, shall be deemed to mean the same as defined in the Vehicle and Traffic Law.

The pavement markings duly adopted for the state highways in the State of New York, as the same now exist and/or as they may hereafter be amended, are hereby adopted as and for pavement markings on all roads or streets in the City of Rye, and the Police Department of said City is hereby authorized and directed to cause said roads or streets to be similarly marked, and the markings so made and designated shall have the same meaning, force and effect as the markings upon the state highways, and violations of such markings shall be subject to the same penalties as provided for violations thereof upon state highways.
Vehicles must keep to the right of all beacons unless otherwise directed by a police officer.
No one shall operate any vehicle so as to interfere with or interrupt the passage of other vehicles.
