There shall be created, and there hereby is
created, the office of Comptroller of the Town of West New York.
The duties and powers of the Comptroller shall
be to sign all warrants on the Town treasury, and upon receiving a
claim, he shall first audit the bill containing or making up such
claim, to ascertain whether the supplies charged to the town, or the
services alleged to have been rendered, have been furnished or rendered
as stated and whether the sum or sums demanded therefor are proper
and he shall perform such other duties as may be required of him for
the improvement, advantage and better management of the finances of
the town.
The power to appoint the Comptroller is hereby
vested in the Director of Revenue and Finance.
The Comptroller shall hold office for a term
of one year and thereafter until his successor is chosen and qualifies.

The annual salary of the Comptroller shall be
as established by ordinance, payable in equal semimonthly installments.
