The mission of the Town of Evans Police Department shall be to provide
for the peace and security of all residents of the Town of Evans, to safeguard
lives and property and to protect the innocent, the weak and peaceful against
violence or disorder.
The Evans Police Department will enforce all of the laws
for which it is responsible in a fair and impartial manner at all times. The
Evans Police Department will work in close cooperation with other law enforcement
agencies in order to maintain the appropriate level of enforcement.
The primary objective of the Town of Evans Police Department
shall be to maintain the Town of Evans free from crime as an ideal. Whereas
this is an ideal, the goal of the Police Department is to approach this objective
as closely as possible.
The Town of Evans Police Department will use the authority
entrusted in the Department to enforce the law in a fair and impartial manner,
protecting the constitutional right of all persons.
The Department will strive to assist the community to
provide for varied demands for services that require the preservation of peace
and the protection of property.
The Department and its members will not allow personal
feelings, prejudices, animosities or friendships to influence their decisions.
There will be no compromise for crime and the prosecution of criminals.
The goals and objectives of the Town of Evans Police
shall be formulated by the Chief of Police. These goals and objectives will
be periodically reviewed, updated and then disseminated to all personnel.
