The Park and Recreation Board of Falls Township is hereby created and charged with the duty of advising the Board of Supervisors of Falls Township with respect to the planning, maintenance and development of parks within Falls Township. The Park and Recreation Board shall consist of seven members who shall be appointed by the Board of Supervisors. A member of the Park and Recreation Board shall qualify only if an adult resident of Falls Township at the time of his or her appointment and during the term served on the Board.

The members appointed to the Park and Recreation Board shall serve for terms of five years or until their successors are appointed, except that the members of such Board first appointed shall be appointed for such terms that the term of not more than two members shall expire annually thereafter.

A duly appointed member shall be subject to removal upon a vote of the Board of Supervisors at a public meeting where the Park and Recreation Board shall have previously authorized its Chairman to certify to the Board of Supervisors that said member has missed three consecutive meetings, or four meetings in a given calendar year, said absences to constitute dereliction or neglect of duty. The Board of Supervisors shall give written notice to said member of the certification by the Chairman of the Park and Recreation Board, and its intention to declare the position vacant at a public meeting on a date certain. Once declared vacant, the Board shall in a timely manner, by motion, appoint an individual to serve out the unexpired term of said member.
