A.
The Township Manager, the Chief of Police, and/or an authorized designee shall have the following powers to regulate traffic and parking temporarily in time of emergency:
(1)
In case of fire, flood, storm or other man-made or natural disaster, to establish temporary traffic and/or parking regulations.
(2)
In the case of emergency or to facilitate public works, or in the conduct of parades, processions or public events, to restrict or prohibit traffic and/or parking in limited areas for periods of not more than 72 hours, which can be extended by order of the Township Manager, Chief of Police, and/or an authorized designee.
(3)
In case of hurricane, flood, or other man-made or natural disaster, to clear trees and/or other hazards from any road in the Township.
(4)
In case of an emergency, to regulate traffic and parking in the entire Township or any necessary portions/parts of the Township.
B.
Such temporary and emergency regulations shall be enforced by the Police Department in the same manner as permanent regulations. Any person who shall operate or park any motor vehicle, tractor, trailer, boat and any other vehicle as defined under the Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Code in violation of any such regulation, or who shall move, remove, destroy, injure or deface any sign or marking erected, posted or made to give notice of any such regulations, shall, upon conviction thereof, be liable to the penalty set forth in the law or elsewhere in this chapter for a violation of such nature.
