The purpose of this chapter is to promote, protect and facilitate
the public health, safety, general welfare, coordinated and practical
community development, proper density of population, the provisions
of adequate light and air, police protection, vehicle parking and
loading space, transportation, water, sewerage, schools, public grounds
and other public requirements, as well as to prevent overcrowding
of land, blight, danger and congestion in travel and transportation,
and loss of health, life or property from fire, flood, panic or other
dangers, in accordance with an overall comprehensive plan for the
Township of Falls, taking into consideration the character of the
municipality, its various parts and the suitability of the various
parts for particular uses and structures.
From and after the effective date of this chapter, the use of
land and every building or portion of a building erected, altered
with respect to height or area, added to or relocated, and every use
within a building or use accessory thereto, in the Township of Falls,
shall be in conformity with the provisions of this chapter. Any existing
building or structure and any existing use of a building or land not
in conformity with the regulations herein prescribed shall be regarded
as nonconforming and may be continued, extended or changed, subject
to special regulations herein provided with respect to nonconforming
buildings or uses.
In interpreting and applying the provisions of this chapter,
they shall be held to be the minimum requirements for the promotion
of the general health, safety, comfort, convenience and general welfare.
Where the provisions of this chapter impose greater restrictions than
those of any statute, other ordinance or regulation, the provisions
of this chapter shall control except in those instances where this
chapter is specifically superseded by provisions in another ordinance.

greater restrictions than this chapter, the provisions of such statute,
ordinance or regulation shall control except in those instances where
an ordinance or regulation is specifically superseded by this chapter.
