All terms used in this chapter shall be defined as set forth in F.S. § 496.404.
Any charitable organization or sponsor which intends to solicit contributions within the city by any means or have funds solicited on its behalf by any other person, charitable organization, sponsor or commercial, coventurer or professional solicitor or that participates in a charitable sales promotion or sponsor sales promotion, must prior to engaging in any of these activities obtain a permit from the office of the City Clerk.
Any duly recognized agent or representative of an organization which holds a valid registration statement or certificate of exemption from the Florida Division of Consumer Services of the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services shall be entitled to a charitable solicitation permit free of charge from the City Clerk or his/her designee upon submitting the following:
A. 
A copy of the registration or certificate of exemption.
B. 
Evidence that the individual(s) are duly authorized to solicit on behalf of the qualifying organization.
C. 
A statement of the dates and proposed method of solicitation.
The City Clerk shall issue a permit to any individual qualifying pursuant to § 150-3, and that individual shall carry and produce the permit upon being requested to do so by any resident or law enforcement officer. Permits shall be valid for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days.
Any person, firm, corporation or agent who or which violates any of the provisions of this chapter or who fails to comply therewith shall be punished as set forth in Chapter 1, General Provisions, Article II, of this Code.
