There is hereby created the office of Deputy Municipal Clerk in the Township of Montclair pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40A:9-135.
The Deputy Municipal Clerk shall be appointed by the Township Manager.
A. 
The duties of the Deputy Municipal Clerk shall be to act as assistant to the Municipal Clerk and to perform all such duties in connection with the Municipal Clerk's office as may be from time to time designated by the Township Council and Municipal Clerk.
B. 
The Deputy Municipal Clerk shall have all the powers and shall perform all the duties of the Municipal Clerk during such times and at such specific periods as the Municipal Clerk shall be absent.
