The Uniform Fire Safety Act (N.J.S.A. 52:27D-192 et seq.) shall be enforced in the Township of Montclair by the Montclair Fire Department pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 52:27D-202a.
The Montclair Fire Department shall enforce the Uniform Fire Safety Act and the regulations adopted thereunder in all buildings, structures and premises within the Township of Montclair.
The Montclair Fire Department shall make periodic inspections of life hazard uses required by the Uniform Fire Safety Act or any regulations promulgated thereunder by the Commissioner of the Department of Community Affairs.
The local enforcement shall be under the direct supervision of a fire official who shall be designated by the Chief of the Fire Department.
Such inspectors and other employees as may be necessary in the local enforcement of the Uniform Fire Safety Act shall be appointed by the Township Manager and assigned by the Fire Chief. Such inspectors and employees shall be under the supervision of the fire official.
