[Adopted 12-11-1974 as Ch. 14, Art. I, of the 1974 Code]
A Municipal Court is hereby established under Chapter 8A of Title 2 of the Revised Statutes of New Jersey,[1] as amended and supplemented. The name of said Court shall be the "Municipal Court of the Township of Waterford."

Said Municipal Court shall have and exercise the limited civil and criminal jurisdiction prescribed by said Chapter 8A of Title 2 of the Revised Statutes of New Jersey, as amended and supplemented from time to time.
Said Court shall have a Judge, who shall be known as the "Judge of the Municipal Court." He shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Township Committee, on January 1 for a term of three years, and shall possess the qualifications as set forth in said Chapter 8A of Title 2 of the Revised Statutes.
The Township Committee may by ordinance or resolution provide for an Administrator and other assistants for said Municipal Court.

The compensation of the Judge of the Municipal Court shall be established by ordinance and shall be in lieu of any and all fees. The compensation of the Administrator and other assistants may be established by ordinance or resolution.

The Waterford Township Municipal Court is hereby authorized to charge for the copying of Court records and for issuing certified copies of public records maintained by the Municipal Court pursuant to the fee schedule set forth in N.J.S.A. 22A:3-4, which fee schedule is incorporated by reference herein.
