The owner or occupant of every dwelling house, store, office building or other building or structure which now fronts or may hereafter front upon any public street within the Township of Waterford shall cause the street number assigned to the property upon which said dwelling house, store, office building or other building or structure is erected to be placed in digital figures only.
It shall be the duty of the Tax Assessor to determine such numbers and to delineate them on the Tax Maps; a lot of land, for the purpose of this chapter, shall be a unit of the minimum width required for building purposes on the street upon which it fronts by the Building, Zoning or Planning Ordinances[1] of the Township of Waterford.

Even numbers shall be on the southerly and easterly sides of said streets and odd numbers on the northerly and westerly sides of said streets. Numbers of streets which continue in any other municipality shall, so far as may be possible, be designed to conform to numbers established in said municipality or to provide for a continuation of the numbering in said other municipality when established.
The owner or owners of every building fronting on said streets shall apply to the Tax Assessor for the correct number of the lot upon which such building stands and shall at his own expense place and display such number on the front of such building.
Said number shall be of such size and material and placed in such a substantial manner on the dwelling, store or other improvement so as to be conspicuous and visible from the street, road, avenue, lane or way on which it fronts or from which access to it is had.
If said dwelling, store or other improvement has such setback location that the provisions of § 100-5 cannot be complied with, then the owner or occupant shall provide a post, rod or other type of fixture of a substantial nature with the number affixed thereon and located on the premises so that the number shall be conspicuous and visible from the street, road, avenue, lane or way on which the premises front or from which access to it is had.
A. 
Dwellings. The number shall be placed in digital figures of at least three inches in height within two feet of the main entrance or on the door.
B. 
Commercial and industrial. The number shall be placed in digital figures of at least six inches in height within two feet of the main entrance or on the door.
C. 
More than one occupant. Where there is more than one occupant in the same building, each street level occupant is to have an alphabetical designation included in the street address.
The enforcement of this chapter shall be vested in the Bureau of Fire Prevention, the Police Department[1] and the Construction Official of the Township of Waterford.

Any person, firm or corporation violating the terms of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be subjected to a fine, in the discretion of the Judge of the Municipal Court, of not more than $1,000 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 90 days or a period of community service not to exceed 90 days, or any combination thereof.
