Township of Waterford, NJ Part 1 Parking in Quasi-Public Areas

Article I Purpose; Authority; Designation of Zones

§ 266-1 Purpose.

The purpose of this Part 1 is to establish parking prohibitions in certain areas that are on private property which is open to the public or to which the public is invited as set forth below.

§ 266-2 Authority.

This Part 1 is enacted in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40:48-2.46, which does confer upon Waterford Township the right to establish certain regulations in order to preserve and safeguard the public health, safety, morals and welfare.

§ 266-3 Zones designated.

A. The following areas shall be designed as HANDICAPPED PARKING, NO STOPPING OR STANDING OR FIRE ZONES and shall be so marked by signs in conformance with the current Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for streets and highways.

(1) The Atco Multiplex Cinema.

(2) The Atco Shopping Plaza.

(3) The Waterford Shopping Plaza.

B. Areas covered by this Part 1 pursuant to the properly adopted site plan are located in the Township Planning Board Office.

§ 266-4 Violations and penalties.

For violations of any provision of this Part 1, the minimum penalty shall be as follows:

A. Fire zones.

(1) First offense: $50.

(2) Second offense: $75.

(3) Third offense: $150.

(4) Fourth and subsequent offenses: minimum fine of $250 to a maximum of $500, plus mandatory court appearance.

B. Handicap zone.

(1) First offense: $75.

(2) Second offense: $150.

(3) Third offense: $250.

(4) Fourth and subsequent offenses: minimum fine of $300 to a maximum of $500, plus mandatory court appearance.
