[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Atlantic Beach 8-23-1965. Amendments noted where applicable.]
As used in this chapter, the following words and phrases shall have the following meanings:
CONSPICUOUSLY NUMBER
The use of numerals, script or printed letters which are not less than 21/2 inches in height, securely affixed to the portion of such structure facing a public street, which shall be so located and of such color as to be visible from the street in daylight.
STRUCTURE
Any dwelling house or commercial or business building, which dwelling house or commercial or business building when taken together with its outbuildings comprise one dwelling or commercial or business unit.
A structure numbering plan conforming to a certain map entitled "Outline Map of the Incorporated Village of Atlantic Beach, Town of Hempstead, Nassau County, New York," and dated April, 1961, and filed in the office of the Clerk of the Village of Atlantic Beach on June 6, 1962, is hereby adopted by and for the Incorporated Village of Atlantic Beach.
On and after September 10, 1965, it shall be unlawful for an owner or occupant of any structure in the Village of Atlantic Beach to fail to conspicuously number either by numerals script or printed letters, the structure owned or occupied by them in accordance with the plan of enumeration referred to in § 77-2 of this chapter.
On and after September 10, 1965, it shall be unlawful for an owner or occupant of a structure in the Village of Atlantic Beach to suffer or permit a number on such structure which number does not conform to the plan of enumeration referred to in § 77-2 hereof.
A. 
For the purpose of this chapter, each day on and after September 10, 1965, during which an owner or occupant fails to adhere to the provisions of this chapter, shall constitute a single and separate violation of this chapter.
B. 
Every person convicted of a violation of any of the provisions of this chapter, shall be punished by and subject to a fine of not more than $500 or imprisonment not to exceed 15 days, or both, for each such violation.[1]
