No person shall cause or allow any motor vehicle or any obstruction of any kind to stand or remain upon the streets or sidewalks in front of any Fire Department building or buildings or such other place or places as may be designated as fire zones in the Village.
No person other than a member of the Fire Department of the Village or other person duly authorized by the Board of Trustees in the performance of his duty shall open, use or tamper with a fire hydrant.
No person shall in any manner obstruct or permit to be obstructed the use of any fire hydrant or cause or permit snow or ice or other material to be placed or deposited upon or around any fire hydrant, or allow to be placed or deposited any material or other thing in front thereof from the hydrant to the center of the street and to a point within 10 feet from either side of any hydrant.
No person shall willfully raise, create or continue a false alarm of fire, or aid, abet or assist in raising, creating or continuing a false alarm of fire.
No person shall willfully tamper with, interfere with or otherwise damage or deface any fire alarm equipment or any parts of the fire alarm system or any apparatus of the Fire Department.
No person shall operate any vehicle over or across any hose in use or about to be used by the Fire Department to extinguish a fire, except when directed to do so by the Fire Chief or his designated representative.
Upon sound or signal by siren, bell, horn, direction of a police officer or otherwise, indicating the approach of fire apparatus, all traffic in the highway shall move to the right-hand curb as promptly as possible and remain stationary until such fire apparatus has passed, and it shall be unlawful for the driver or operator of any vehicle to fail to obey this regulation.
The officer of the Fire Department in charge at any fire shall be in control and in full charge of the conduct of persons at or near the vicinity of the fire and shall be authorized, among other things, to make any reasonable regulations as to the conduct of persons thereat and passageway of vehicles through streets in the vicinity thereof, and it shall be unlawful for any person willfully to refuse to obey any reasonable order or instruction by a member of the Fire Department or officer in charge at or in the vicinity of a fire.
The officer of the Fire Department at the scene of a fire shall establish fire lines, and it shall be the duty of the police at or in the vicinity of said fire to enforce said fire lines. It shall be unlawful for any person to cross such fire lines so established unless authorized by the officer in charge.
The Chief Engineer or, in his absence, such officer as may be in charge of the Fire Department or the Mayor of the Village may, pursuant to appropriate law, authorize and permit the Fire Department or such portion thereof and with apparatus as he may see fit to go to the aid of any city, Village, town, fire district, fire prevention district, fire alarm district or territory outside the Village when there shall be a call for assistance from such outside territory, when such call shall be made by the person in charge of the Fire Department of such city, Village, town, fire district, fire prevention district, fire alarm district or territory or by the Mayor or other officer in charge of such city, Village, town, fire district, fire prevention district, fire alarm district or territory.
