It shall be illegal for any commercial establishment to build or install a roll-up metal door which is either mechanical or electrical, which is located on the front of said establishment and faces a City sidewalk after the effective date of this article.

For purposes of this article only, the following definition shall be applicable:
Building or any part thereof at or from which any merchandise and/or commodities are sold to the general public.

Any person, firm or corporation violating any provisions of this article shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be subject to the penalties established in the City Schedule of Fees and Penalties,[1] and shall pay the cost of prosecution. For purposes of this article, each day that a commercial establishment continues with the use of a roll-up metal door in violation of this article shall be deemed to be a separate offense.
