A. 
A course shall consist of not less than 15 hours of instruction on changes in the code.
B. 
Approved electrical courses in Subsection A shall be acceptable for fire alarm specialty technician and sign technician renewal requirements as long as the 15 hours includes changes in the code relative to National Electrical Code Article 760 and Article 600, respectively.
All instructors shall be licensed under Public Act 217 (1956, as amended) [MSA § 18.204(1) et seq.; MCL § 338.881 et seq.].

A certificate of completion shall be issued to a person who has successfully completed the code update class with the required attendance and/or a passing grade. This certificate shall contain all of the following information:
A. 
A course approval number as granted by the Board, the RECI Board of Directors or the State Electrical Administrative Board.
B. 
The name of the school, college, organization, company or person who sponsors or administers the course.
C. 
The date the certificate was issued.
D. 
The student's name.
E. 
The instructor's signature certifying that the applicant completed the course as described in § 126-69B of this chapter.
A. 
A provider of a code update course shall apply for approval by submitting information in writing to the Board or the RECI Executive Board or the State Electrical Administrative Board. The information shall be evaluated pursuant to the requirements of Article V.
B. 
An instructor application shall contain all of the following information:
(1) 
The name and address of the applicant.
(2) 
The name of the instructor and his or her license number where applicable.
(3) 
A copy of the teaching outline for the program.
(4) 
A determination of the number of contact hours that are required to conduct the course.
(5) 
A description of the criteria that is used to identify program participants who successfully complete the course.
C. 
Approval of a course shall be evidenced by:
(1) 
A course identification number.
(2) 
The name and address of the applicant.
(3) 
The name of the instructor and license number and municipality.
(4) 
The date of approval.
(5) 
Conditions of approval (attendance and/or exam).
(6) 
The period of approval.
D. 
A course that has been approved shall not be altered without prior authorization by one of those Boards listed in Subsection A of this section.
E. 
One of the Boards listed in Subsection A of this section shall be notified if there is a change in instructors.
F. 
Any one of the Boards listed in Subsection A of this section may withdraw the approval of a course if the approval was issued in error by reason of incorrect information or found to be in violation of these rules.
G. 
An appeal regarding Subsection F of this section shall be processed pursuant to the provisions of Act 306 of the Public Acts of 1969, as amended [MSA § 3.560(101) et seq.; MCL § 24.201 et seq.].[1]

H. 
Instructors and code update courses that have been approved shall have reciprocity between the State Electrical Administrative Board and the RECI Executive Board.
