Pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 39:4-140, the streets or parts of streets described in Schedule VII (§ 312-38) attached to and made a part of this Part 1 are hereby designated as through streets. Stop signs shall be installed on the near right side of each street intersecting the through street except where yield right-of-way signs are provided for in the designations.

Pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 39:4-140, the intersections described in Schedule VIII (§ 312-39) attached to and made part of this Part 1 are hereby designated as stop intersections. Stop signs shall be installed as provided therein. No driver of a vehicle shall enter upon or cross an intersecting street marked with a "stop" sign unless he has first brought his vehicle to a complete stop at a point within five feet of the nearest crosswalk or stop line marked upon the pavement at the near side of the intersecting street and shall proceed only after yielding the right of way to all traffic on the intersecting street which is so close as to constitute an immediate hazard.

Pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 39:4-140, the intersections described in Schedule IX (§ 312-40) attached to and made a part of this Part 1, are hereby designated as yield intersections. Yield right-of-way signs shall be installed as provided therein. No driver of a vehicle shall enter upon or cross an intersecting street marked with a "yield right-of-way" sign without first slowing to a reasonable speed for existing conditions and visibility, stopping, if necessary, and the driver shall yield the right of way to all traffic on the intersecting street which is so close as to constitute an immediate hazard.
