Township of Harrison, NJ Election Districts

[Amended 2-17-2009 by Ord. No. 03-2009]

Pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 19:4-5 et seq.,[1] the election districts of the Township of Harrison, in the County of Gloucester, shall be readjusted to create a total of eight election districts, and that said eight districts shall be respectively bounded and described as follows:

Election District Number 1: BEGINNING at the intersection of the Mullica Hill Road U.S. 322 and the Richwood Road, and the Harrisonville Road, thence in a westerly direction along the center line of the Mullica Hill Road to the intersecting center point of Main Street, State Highway 45, thence in a southerly direction along the center line of Main Street to the intersecting center line of Bridgeton Pike, S.H. 77, thence in a generally southerly direction along the center line of Bridgeton Pike to the intersecting center point of the Harrison Township-South Harrison Township-Elk Township boundary line, thence in an easterly direction along the Harrison Township-Elk Township boundary line to the center point of the Harrisonville Road, thence in an easterly direction along the center line of the Harrisonville Road to the intersection of the Richwood Road and the Mullica Hill Road at the point and place of beginning.

Election District Number 2: BEGINNING at the center point of the Mullica Hill Road, U.S. 322 at the Harrison Township-Glassboro Borough boundary line, thence in a westerly direction and the center line of the Harrison Township-Glassboro Borough boundary line to the intersecting center point of the Harrison Township-Glassboro Borough Mantua Township boundary line, thence in a westerly direction along the Harrison Township Mantua Township boundary line to the intersecting center point of Edward Run, thence in a southwesterly direction along the center line of Edward Run to the intersecting center line of Cedar Road, thence in a northwesterly direction along the center line of Cedar Road to the intersecting center line of Walters Road, thence in a southerly direction along the center line of Walters Road to the intersecting center line of Mullica Hill Road at the Harrison Township-Glassboro Borough boundary line at the point and place of beginning.

Election District Number 3: BEGINNING at the center point of Route 45 and Swedesboro Road U.S. 322, thence in a southerly direction along Route 45 to the intersecting center line of Route 45 and Woodlawn Avenue, thence in a westerly direction along Woodlawn Avenue to the center point of the Raccoon Creek, thence in a southwesterly and westerly direction along the center line of the Raccoon Creek to the intersecting center point of the Raccoon Creek at the Harrison Township-Woolwich Township boundary line, thence in a northerly direction along the Harrison Township Woolwich Township boundary line to the intersecting center point of Swedesboro Road, U.S. 322 at the Harrison Township-Woolwich Township boundary line, thence in a generally easterly direction along the center line of Swedesboro Road to the intersecting center point of S.H. 45 at the point and place of beginning.

Election District Number 4: BEGINNING at the center point of the Mullica Hill Road, U.S. 322 at the Harrison Township-Glassboro Borough boundary line, thence in a southwesterly direction along the Harrison Township-Glassboro Borough-Elk Township boundary line, to the intersecting center point of the Harrison Township-Glassboro Borough-Elk Township boundary lines, thence in a westerly and northerly direction along the Harrison Township-Elk Township boundary line to the intersecting center line of the Harrisonville Road, thence in a northeasterly direction along the Harrisonville Road to the intersecting center line of the Mullica Hill Road, U.S. 322, thence in an easterly direction along the Mullica Hill Road to the intersecting center point of Mullica Hill Road at the Harrison Township-Glassboro Borough boundary line at the point and place of beginning.

Election District Number 5: BEGINNING at the center line of Main Street, S.H. 45, and Woodlawn Avenue, thence in a westerly direction along the center line of Woodlawn Avenue to the intersecting center line of the Raccoon Creek, thence in a southwesterly and westerly direction along the center line of the Raccoon Creek to the intersecting center point of the Raccoon Creek at the Harrison Township-Woolwich Township boundary line, thence in a southwesterly direction along the Harrison Township-Woolwich Township boundary line to the intersecting center line of Pidgeon Road, thence in a southeasterly direction along the Harrison Township-Woolwich Township boundary line to the intersecting center point of the Harrison Township-Woolwich Township-South Harrison Township boundary line, thence in an easterly direction along the Harrison Township-South Harrison Township boundary line to the intersecting center line of the Woodstown Road at the Harrison Township-South Harrison Township boundary line thence in an easterly direction along the center line of the Woodstown Road to the intersecting center line of Main Street, S.H. 45, thence in a northerly direction along the center line of Main Street to the intersecting center point of Woodlawn Avenue at the point and place of beginning.

Election District Number 6: BEGINNING at the center line of Woodstown Road at the Harrison Township-South Harrison Township boundary line, thence in an easterly direction along the center line of the Woodstown Road to the intersecting center line of Main Street, S.H. 45, thence in a southerly direction along the center line of Main Street to the intersecting center line of Bridgeton Pike, S.H. 77, thence in a southerly direction along the center line of the Bridgeton Pike to the intersecting center line of the Bridgeton Pike at the Harrison Township-Elk Township-South Harrison Township boundary lines, thence in a southwesterly direction along the Harrison Township-South Harrison Township boundary line to the intersecting center line of Woodstown Road at the point and place of beginning.

Election District Number 7: BEGINNING at the center point of Edwards Run at the Harrison Township-Mantua Township boundary line, thence in a southwesterly direction along the center line of Edwards Run to the intersecting center line of Cedar Road, thence in a westerly direction along the center line of Cedar Road to the intersecting line of Walters Road, thence in a southerly direction along the center line of Walters Road to the intersecting center line of Mullica Hill Road, U.S. 322, thence in a generally westerly direction along the center line of the Mullica Hill Road to the intersecting center line of Main Street, S.H. 45, thence in a northerly and northeasterly direction along S.H. 45 to the intersecting center point of S.H. 45 at the Harrison Township-Mantua Township boundary line, thence in a southeasterly direction to the intersecting center point of Edwards Run at the Harrison Township-Mantua Township boundary line at the point and place of beginning.

Election District Number 8: BEGINNING at the center line of the Swedesboro Road, U.S. 322, at the Harrison Township Woolwich Township boundary line, thence in a northerly direction along the Harrison Township-Woolwich Township boundary line to the intersecting center point of the Harrison Township-Woolwich Township-East Greenwich Township boundary lines, thence in an easterly direction along the Harrison Township-East Greenwich Township boundary line to the intersecting center point of the Harrison Township-East Greenwich Township-Mantua Township boundary lines, thence in an easterly direction along the Harrison Township-Mantua Township boundary line to the intersecting center line of S.H. 45 at the Harrison Township-Mantua Township boundary line, thence in a southwesterly direction along the center line of S.H. 45 to the intersecting center line of Swedesboro Road U.S. 322 thence in a northeasterly and easterly direction along the center line of Swedesboro Road to the intersecting center point of Swedesboro Road at the Harrison Township-Woolwich Township boundary line at the point and place of beginning.
