The Municipal Court, heretofore created pursuant
to N.J.S.A. 2B:12-1 et seq., shall continue to be known as the "Municipal
Court of the Township of Washington." The Court shall have all functions,
powers, duties and jurisdiction conferred by statute.
A.Â
Appointment. The Municipal Judge shall be appointed
by the Mayor, with advice and consent of Council, for a term of three
years, and shall serve until his/her successor is appointed and qualified.
The Municipal Judge shall be paid in accordance with the annual Salary
Ordinance.

Qualifications. The Municipal Judge shall be an attorney-at-law
of the State of New Jersey and a resident thereof, but need not be
a resident of the Township.
The Municipal Court shall have a Court Administrator,
a Deputy Court Clerk, a Violations Clerk and a Deputy Violations Clerk,
and such other employees as Council may authorize. The Municipal Judge
shall appoint the Violations Clerk, with the other positions to be
filled by the Mayor.
