[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Mamaroneck 7-25-1955 as Secs. 2, 2A, 11, 12 and 15 of Ch. 4 of the Unified Code of Ordinances. A. 
No person shall, other than in self defense or in the discharge of official duty or upon a properly constructed shooting gallery or target range approved by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Mamaroneck, discharge any species of firearms, fireworks or other weapon within the limits of the Village of Mamaroneck.
B. 
This section, however, shall not prohibit the discharge of firearms at theatrical performances, athletic events or special occasions where permission so to do has been applied for and granted by the Chief of Police nor the public display of fireworks by individuals, clubs or organizations on special occasions where permission for such display has been obtained from the Village Manager and a bond has been filed in an amount fixed by said Village Manager.

No slingshot, bean shooter or other instrument for throwing bullets, metal pellets, stones or beans shall be sold or offered for sale in the Village of Mamaroneck.
B. 
No person shall throw any objects, stones or other missiles or use any slingshots, bean shooters or air rifles in any street, sidewalk, park or any public place in the Village of Mamaroneck.
C. 
No person shall throw any objects, stones or other missiles or use any slingshots, bean shooters or air rifles on or from private property in such a manner as to endanger the safety of any person at any public or private place in the Village of Mamaroneck.
It shall be unlawful for any person to permit or allow a discarded refrigerator or one not in use to remain in any place accessible to children, unless the latching or locking mechanism on the door or doors of the same has been removed or unless the door or doors of the same are bolted and locked in such a manner so that it is impossible to open the same by use of the hands.

The parent, guardian or other person having custody of a child under the age of sixteen (16) years who omits to exercise reasonable diligence in the control of such child to prevent such child from becoming guilty of juvenile delinquency as defined by statute, where such delinquency constitutes the willful destruction of property of the Village of Mamaroneck, may be punishable by such penalties as set forth in § 268-7.

A. 
Any person who intrudes or trespasses upon any lot, piece of land or body of water without authority from the owner thereof or who erects or occupies thereon any building or structure whatever without such authority and any person who builds, erects or occupies within the bounds of any street or avenue or public property any structure or building without lawful authority shall be guilty of an offense punishable by such penalties as set forth in § 268-7.

[Amended 12-11-1978 by L.L. No. 17-1978, effective 12-15-1978] Definitions. As used in this section, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
PERSON
Includes an individual, society, club, firm, partnership, corporation or association of persons, and the singular number shall include the plural number.
VEHICLE
Includes any means in or by which someone or something is carried or conveyed, whether by land, water or air.
C. 
Presumption. Should the trespass be committed by means of a vehicle, the owner thereof shall be presumed to be the operator of that vehicle at the time the trespass occurred.

It shall be unlawful for any person to fish from or upon any property owned by the Village of Mamaroneck which, by resolution of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Mamaroneck, has been designated as a "No Fishing Area" and so designated by appropriate signage.

Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be punishable, upon conviction thereof, by a fine not exceeding two hundred fifty dollars ($250.) or imprisonment not exceeding fifteen (15) days, or both.
