This article shall be known as "Local Law No. 4 of the Year 1998, entitled
the Local Law Increasing the Term of the Town Clerk of the Town of Marilla
from Two Years to Four Years."
The purpose of the article is to increase the term of the Town Clerk
of the Town of Marilla from a two-year term to a four-year term.
This article supersedes the provisions of § 24 of the Town
Law of the State of New York, which sets the terms of elected officers other
than Town Councilmen, Town Justices, Receivers of Taxes and Assessors at two
years; and is authorized pursuant to the provisions of § 23 of the
Municipal Home Rule Law of the State of New York; and provides:
A. That the term of office for the position of Town Clerk
of the Town of Marilla shall be four years.
B. That this article shall become effective upon approval
at a mandatory referendum by the electors of the Town of Marilla.
This article shall become effective upon filing with the office of the
Secretary of State and approval at a mandatory referendum by the registered
voters of the Town of Marilla.

the Town of Marilla from Two Years to Four Years."

of Highways of the Town of Marilla from a two-year term to a four-year term.
This article supersedes the provisions of § 24 of the Town
Law of the State of New York, which sets the terms of elected officers other
than Town Councilman, Town Justices, Receivers of Taxes and Assessors at two
years; and is authorized pursuant to the provisions of § 23 of the
