Town of Westerly, RI Article XI Neighbor Day Committee

[Adopted 8-13-1991 by Ch. No. 983 as § 2-291 of the 1991 Code (Ch. No. 1301)]

§ 5-47 Establishment; volunteer and ex officio members; compensation.

A. There shall be a permanent Neighbor Day Committee made up of volunteers for an indefinite term.

B. Ex officio members shall consist of members of Town government.

C. Members shall serve without compensation.

§ 5-48 Mission.

The mission of the Committee is to coordinate activities for Neighbor Day Events (Sunday before Memorial Day weekend in perpetuity) and foster "Love Thy Neighbor As Thyself."

§ 5-49 Authority to call on governmental entities.

The Committee shall have authority to call upon all governmental entities in order to extend Neighbor Day nationally and worldwide.

§ 5-50 Report of activities.

The Committee shall submit a report of each year's activities, which shall be placed in Town government minutes and in the archives.
