Where excavating machines are used in digging sewers,
all water mains shall be maintained at the expense of the contractor.

their own expense, cause them to be replaced or repaired at once.
Contractors must not shut off the water service pipes to any consumer
for a period exceeding six hours.
Trenches in unpaved streets shall be refilled

kept flooded until the remainder of the backfill has been put in.
