There shall be a Conservation Commission of the Town of Griswold to
consist of five members who shall be electors of the Town of Griswold.
The Conservation Commission of the Town of Griswold shall have all the
authority provided Conservation Commissions under the General
Statutes of the State of Connecticut.
The initial membership of the Commission shall be appointed so that
the terms of office of two of its members shall expire on the date of the
biennial election for the Town of Griswold in November 1973 and the terms
of office of three of its members shall expire on the date of the biennial
election for the Town of Griswold in November 1975. Thereafter, as the term
of each member of the Commission expires, the successor shall be appointed
to serve a term of four years.
In the event that any member of the Conservation Commission shall cease
to be a resident of the Town of Griswold, his office shall be deemed vacant.

The Griswold Conservation Commission is hereby designated the agency
authorized to promulgate regulations under Sections 22a-37 through 22a-45
of the Connecticut General Statutes (Revision of 1958), the Inland Wetlands
and Watercourses Act, for the purpose of protecting the wetlands and watercourses
of the Town of Griswold.[1]
The Commission shall hold a public hearing prior to the adoption or
amendment of any regulations. Notice of the time and place of such hearing
shall be published in a newspaper having a circulation in the Town not less
than five days prior to the date of such hearing. A copy of the proposed regulations
or amendment shall be on file in the office of the Town Clerk at least five
days prior to such hearing. The regulations and amendments shall become effective
upon notice of their adoption by publication in a newspaper having a circulation
in the Town.
