The Town of Wethersfield does hereby adopt C.G.S.
§ 4-124i through p, inclusive, as amended, providing for
the formation of a Regional Council of Governments within a planning
region, as defined or redefined by the Director of the Office of State
Planning, and does hereby join the Regional Council of Governments
within its planning region when and as such Council is duly established
in accordance with said statutes upon the adoption of said statutes
by not less than 60% of all municipalities within such planning region.
The adoption of the aforesaid sections of the General Statutes is
intended to include the provisions of Special Act 73-79 of the 1973
Session of the General Assembly respecting additional representation
for the core city within the capitol region on a Regional Council
of Governments and a nonvoting advisory regional forum thereunder,
consistent with proposed bylaws of such Regional Council of Governments
dated January 25, 1973, and endorsed by the existing Regional Council
of Governments on May 3, 1973.
A.
The representative of this Town on said Council shall
be the Mayor, and an alternate representative, when authorized, shall
be a member of the Wethersfield Council to be chosen by such Town
Council.
B.
The representative of this Town on the Regional Planning
Commission as defined by C.G.S. § 4-124o, as amended, shall
be a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission to be chosen by
such Commission.
The Regional Council of Governments shall have
such powers, purposes, duties and responsibilities as are provided
for in C.G.S. §§ 4-124i through 4-124p, inclusive,
as amended.
