The Township of Blackman hereby elects to assume responsibility for the administration and enforcement of the International Fire Code, promulgated by the International Code Council (ICC). It further is ordained that the most recent edition of said Code shall take effect in the Township once issued by the ICC, unless specific action is taken by the Township Board to the contrary. Note: The edition in effect at the time of a building's construction, renovation, or change in occupancy classification shall remain the binding edition on that building, unless otherwise specified in the Code.
The Township of Blackman designates the Director of Public Safety or his or her designee as the enforcing agent to discharge the responsibilities of the Township under this article.

Any person, firm, copartnership, company, or corporation who shall violate any provision of this article shall, on conviction thereof, be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than 90 days or by a fine of not more than $100, or by both fine and imprisonment.
A Fire Board of Appeals for the Charter Township of Blackman hereby is created and shall consist of three members. Each member of the Board of Appeals shall be appointed by the Township Supervisor for a three-year term.
