The Township Committee of Mannington Township (hereinafter known as the "Township") is cognizant that the Mannington Fire Company is an independent volunteer fire company located within the Township, possessing its own fire-fighting equipment and membership, from which it recognizes its own Fire Chief, and governed by its own bylaws and rules and regulations now in existence or hereafter adopted.
The Mannington Fire Company has served a fire-fighting function in the Township and regularly responds to requests to do so within the Township.
The Township recognizes the Mannington Fire Company as the fire-fighting unit of first instance to be initially called in case of fire in the Township, inasmuch as the said Mannington Fire Company is the only fire company, volunteer or otherwise, physically located within the Township.
