No person or persons, firm or corporation shall engage in the business
of keeping a junkyard, that is, no person or persons, firm or corporation
shall keep and maintain a yard, covered or uncovered space or place in the
Township of Mannington for the purpose of auto wrecking or buying and selling,
exchanging or storing rags, cullet, junk stoves and junk refrigerators, junk
metals, junk paper, or junk of any kind, or parts thereof, motor vehicle junk,
without being licensed to do so by the Township Committee of the Township
of Mannington.
A fee of $15 per annum shall be charged for such license, which shall
accompany the application for such license, and which shall be returned in
full if the application is denied or refused by the Township Committee.
Such premises shall at all times be kept and maintained by the licensee
in a safe and sightly manner, with due regard to the public health and safety
of persons and property in the vicinity where the junkyard or sales establishment
is located.
Such premises shall be maintained only so long as the same shall be
fenced on all sides by a fence of at least eight feet in height, and so constructed
that the business shall not be visible from the exterior, and shall be painted
white or dark green.
No articles shall be stored in such junkyard in such fashion as they
are visible from any road, street, lane or alley.
Not more than two junkyards shall be licensed in the Township of Mannington.

Violations of this chapter shall be punishable as provided in §
1-15 of this Code.
