Pursuant to the authority conferred by N.J.S.A. 40:48-2, as same may be amended from time to time, the City of North Wildwood Fire Department is hereby recognized and designated as the provider of ambulance and rescue services for the City of North Wildwood.
The North Wildwood Rescue Squad, a private, nonprofit corporation, shall, from the effective date of this chapter, no longer be recognized as the provider of ambulance and rescue services in the City of North Wildwood, and any powers and privileges previously conferred by that recognition are hereby revoked.
Any and all equipment, materials, supplies, rescue and ambulance vehicles, financial contributions or any other aid and assistance provided by the City of North Wildwood to the North Wildwood Rescue Squad is hereby terminated on the effective date of this chapter.
Any and all equipment, materials, supplies, vehicles, financial contributions or other aid and assistance set out in § 118-3 of this chapter, which are the property of the City of North Wildwood, are hereby conferred upon the North Wildwood Fire Department.
The North Wildwood Fire Department shall, from the effective date of this chapter, provide twenty-four-hour ambulance and rescue service wheresoever and howsoever it shall be required within the City of North Wildwood, and in other municipalities as is permitted by the statutes of the State of New Jersey and the ordinances, resolutions and contracts of the City of North Wildwood.
This chapter shall not be altered or repealed in such manner as to adversely effect any bonds or other obligations pertaining to the duties imposed upon the City of North Wildwood Fire Department.
The City of North Wildwood Fire Department shall be the sole authorized and recognized entity to provide ambulance and rescue services in the City of North Wildwood and, except as otherwise permitted by the statutes of the State of New Jersey, no other entity shall be permitted to provide said services within the City of North Wildwood.

Any person or association of persons convicted of a violation of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to a fine not to exceed $1,250 or imprisonment in the county jail for a term not to exceed 90 days, or both.
This chapter shall take effect upon its publication as provided by law and shall be retroactive to August 7, 1995.

The charges for rendering ambulance and rescue services by the City of North Wildwood Fire Department to individuals shall be:
A. 
Rate for ambulance and trained crew: $800.
B. 
Rate for providing oxygen: $100.
C. 
Rate for mileage at: $20 per mile.
D. 
Treat and release: $100.
E. 
Automatic external defibrillation treatment: $150.
F. 
Naloxone (Narcan): $100.
G. 
Epinephrine auto-injector: $300.
H. 
Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP): $300.
I. 
Disposable cervical collar: $35.

In the event that the health insurance company of a taxpayer, full-time resident, employee or volunteer of the City of North Wildwood who received City ambulance services does not pay the bill in full, the City will, upon written request to the Fire Chief, accept partial payment to the extent of the insured's policy limits, including deductible and coinsurance requirements, as payment in full.
