No person shall set off, cast or fire any rocket, fountain, roman candle or any other sort of fireworks unless he shall have secured a license from the Mayor of the Borough of Shippensburg permitting him to do so.
Any person or persons desiring to give an exhibition of fireworks by setting off and firing rockets, fountains, roman candles and fireworks of a like character shall make application to the Mayor for a license so to do at least five days before the date of such exhibition and shall set forth in his application the place where and the time when such exhibition shall be given. If the Mayor shall be satisfied that the said exhibition will not endanger persons or property, he shall grant a license to the applicant. The person or persons so receiving such license shall be responsible for all damage to persons or property which may result from the setting off of fireworks under the license so granted.

Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be punishable by a fine of not more than $300 and costs of prosecution or, upon default in payment of the fine and costs, by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than 30 days.
